Why wait for children and young people to reach a crisis point when we can prevent harm before it happens?

Active Minds And Souls

At AMAS- Active Minds and Souls, we take a preventative and proactive approach to enhance the mental wellbeing of children and young people. We believe in establishing a strong foundation that enables them to confront daily social and emotional challenges confidently. Our aim is to cultivate a generation of resilient and self-assured individuals who possess the skills and mindset to navigate the constantly evolving and complex world around them.

Children and young people’s mental health is under severe pressure, one in six children aged 5-16 are likely to have a mental health problem (a figure that has increased by 50% in the last three years. The Mental Health of Children and Young People in England 2022 report showed that among 17 to 19-year-olds, the proportion with a probable mental disorder increased from 17.4% in 2021 to 25.7% in 2022.

With services overwhelmed, turning patients away, or offering them support months into the future, the mental health of children and young people can only continue to worsen.

Various factors contribute to this alarming situation, such as the adverse impact of social media, academic pressure, family dynamics, and social expectations, to name a few. This news is disheartening not only for young people, but also for parents, caretakers, and educators, with significant consequences for society. For this reason, we are deeply committed to driving change in the present and future of younger generations.
